Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh, for whom color was the chief symbol of expression, was born in Groot-Zundert, Holland on March 30, 1853. He Is a Dutch post-Impressionist painter who does his paintings from emotion and bold colours. He uses drawings, oil paintings, watercolours and prints to develop his paintings from portraits, landscapes and still life’s, mainly acrylic. He inspire his paintings from his surroundings, where he goes, the objects he use and who he talks to, E.g. Portraits of person, still life painting of sunflowers, landscape painting of fields, etc. He actually does his own portrait with every details and tones and makes the colour brighter and dimmer.

This is an autumn landscape painting of van Gogh

I like this landscape because it creates a peaceful and calm mood, yet dry and a moody atmosphere at the same time. As the dark green and light brown colour on the ground makes the paining look much drier, but the light blue sky and the still trees makes the painting look much calmer.
The artist has explored a range of midtones, lights, and darks within them. To create the distance within the painting, the artist used less detail, texture, in some areas such as the bushes behind the tress. (Background of the landscape.) He also used cooler colours to push elements farther into the background. (Sky)
